The educational setting is an important area of advocacy for CASA. This series will focus on the many educational issues pertaining to students in foster care or at risk of out of home placement, including early intervention, special education, legislation regarding educational stability, disciplinary procedures and transitioning to college. Session 1 will focus on the law, regulation and processes related to special education services. Session 2 will focus on what CASA volunteers can do to support children’s education and to promote parent advocacy.
